Innie & Vinnie

I've been digging the Giuseppe Zanotti campaigns for the past few seasons – Anja Rubik shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. (Spring/Summer 2012 above, Fall/Winter 2011 below.)

Need vs. Want

I know, I'm in a shopping mood this week. I've been looking for the perfect pair of high-waisted, loose-fitting black pants forever, and these would fit the bill completely.

Need. But alas, unattainable.

Retail Therapy

This coat should not still be available in almost every size, at this price. Unless there is something weird going on with the cut that isn't evident from the photos, this one promises heavy wardrobe rotation. The 3/4 sleeves are no issue in a place like Seattle – and anyway, who doesn't like an excuse to wear long gloves?

Good detailing.

Moon Safari

Air scores a newly restored edition of George Méliès’ 1902 film Le Voyage dans la Lune (A Trip To The Moon). Méliès hand-painted every frame of the color version of the film, which "pioneered the use of trompe l’oeil objects, papier-mâché props and double-exposure to tell the first science fiction tale in cinema." Air's score features vocals from Au Revoir Simone and Victoria Legrand (Beach House), and “when the people talk [in the film], we decided to use animal sounds,” says Nicolas Godin of Air.
